i started working on this personal work to study how they did the breaking of rey's lightsaber in
star wars viii: the last jedi. it was very insightful to study the lightsaber design from several websites as wannawanga.com. by taking apart this scene frame by frame and recreating it myself i noticed a lot of details that i would have overlooked if i only watched it. To have a technical project beside other creative and design projects was very useful and felt as a good extension to my 3d work.

The lightsaber animation was created with Blender 2.8 eevee and adobe after effects for adding motionblur, flares and color correction.
